ExploSecure® 101

PulseCode™ is a highly secure lock with the added capability of storing an audit
trail for download. The lock itself remains inside the magazine and communicates with
the key through specially coded vibration. The sensor in the lock is capable of
distinguishing the vibration of the key from the vibration of other sources, such as truck
engines.
Because the lock is inside the magazine, it cannot be picked, vandalized, or destroyed
without being inside the magazine already. In addition, the vibration sequence is never
the same twice, so it is not possible to gain access by recording the signal.
Each lock is programmed through software, and can be either connected to the
computer through a serial port with the proper cable, or a data bank can be used to
transfer information between the computer and the locks.
The same software and equipment will bring in audit trail data to provide a list of who
accessed the magazine and when, to aid regulatory compliance. Because the access is
done through software, there's no need to replace the locks if a key is lost; simply
remove its permission to open the lock. Furthermore, since keys also require a code, a
lost key without the code cannot open the lock. Failed attempts to open the lock--either
from an unauthorized key or an authorized key with an incorrect code--will show up in
the audit trail for the lock. For more information, see ExploSecure® Advantages, ExploSecure®: Real World Use, or see our brochure.
